Is It Still Hooked on Fishing??

Our ponds seem to have attracted a large number of geese. Perhaps over the winter we should change our name to "Hooked on Geese".

OUR VOLUNTEERS MAKE THE PARK POSSIBLE

Above are pictured some of the volunteers who have helped this year.

The Hooked on Fishing Park volunteers make everything happen.  Without our volunteers there would be no Hooked on Fishing.  Throughout the year they havebeen there when we needed them. Whether it was help with the groups, fishing derbies, fundraising, park maintenance, or emergency sandbagging, the volunteers have done it all.

Each one who has volunteered is due a BIG "thank you".

If you would like to become one of our volunteers, call us at 309-219-3560.

FLOOD CLEANUP DAY................SATURDAY, MAY 18TH FROM 9 AM TO 1PM
PLEASE COME AND HELP US CLEAN UP  THE PARK

With the Illinois River headed for a record flood level, we did our best to prepare.  With the help of many loyal volunteers, we sandbagged around our headquarters building in hopes of saving it from the encroaching flood waters.  Unfortunately, our efforts were in vain and we were unable to stop the water from reaching the building.  We will now have to wait untill the waters recede until we can assess the damage to our building.

Our ponds are also flooded, and the river water has invaded our three fishing ponds.  Mother Nature will have to take its course, and we can only wait for the river levels go back down so that our flooded basin can drain and return to normal. At this point we have no estimate of the timeframe for these events to happen.  Also unknown is the damage to out fish stock, roads, and other park improvements. We know we will have lots of repair and rebuilding to do.
